Everything you can do in a match with the mouse and keyboard, how to change the hotkeys, and
the keys for watching replays.
| Action | What it does |
|---|---|
| Left-click a territory | Select it: place troops, pick an attacker and target, or choose where to move |
| Right-click a territory | Open the territory menu, where you can report an offensive territory or region name |
| Scroll wheel | Zoom the map in and out |
| Left-click and drag | Pan the map |
| Middle-click and drag | Pan the map |
| Click a player card (top strip) | Open that player's panel: pacts, private reactions, mute, report, stats |
Click or drag? A left-click that barely moves still counts as a click and selects the
territory; move the mouse further while holding the button and it pans instead, without
selecting anything. You can pan the map on anyone's turn, but selecting only works on yours.
Menus come first. While a menu is open (Social, the Battle Log, a player's panel, a
confirm window, the trade screen or the dice picker), it gets every click and scroll and the
map behind it doesn't react. Click anywhere outside a side panel to close it.
These are the defaults. Every one can be changed (see below), and each action has two
slots, so it can sit on two keys at once, or on a key and a mouse button.
| Default | Second slot | Action |
|---|---|---|
| S | — | Open or close Social: emotes and quick chat. Works in the online lobby too |
| B | — | Open or close the Battle Log, with the match stats beside it |
| C | — | Open or close your Card Hand, to trade in a set. Works only when a trade is allowed (your Reinforce phase, with a valid set in hand) |
| R | Tab | Region Bonuses overlay: every region in its colour, with its bonus |
| A | — | Adjacency overlay: every connection between territories |
| T | — | Card Territories overlay: highlights the territories on the cards in your hand |
| 1–8 | Numpad 1–8 | Open that player's panel, counting the cards in the top strip from the left. Same as clicking their card |
| Left Arrow | Scroll Down | Lower the slider (troops to place or move, or troops to commit to an attack) |
| Right Arrow | Scroll Up | Raise the slider |
A few things worth knowing:
While a slot is listening:
If the key you pick is already used by another action, it moves: the other action loses
it, and the Controls page tells you which one. Reset to Defaults at the bottom puts every
hotkey back.
Your hotkeys are saved with your other settings.
The Controls tab is on PC only. Android has no keyboard, so the tab isn't shown there.
These can't be changed.
| Key | What it does |
|---|---|
| Esc | Close whatever is on top: a confirm window, the trade screen (when you're allowed to back out), the dice picker, a side panel, or Settings. With nothing open it offers to Resign, or to Leave for now in a Correspondence match. Once you're out of the match and spectating, it asks whether you want to leave instead |
| Enter | Confirm: accept a confirm window, or place/move the troops on the slider |
| Scroll wheel | Zoom the map (when no menu or slider is using it) |
| Left- or middle-click and drag | Pan the map |
When you watch a replay, or cast a live match, the keyboard works differently. Your match
hotkeys are switched off, and these keys take over instead. They can't be changed.
| Key | What it does |
|---|---|
| Space | Play or pause |
| Left Arrow / Right Arrow | Step back or forward one action |
| Shift + Left Arrow | Jump to the start of the round. Press again to go back a round |
| Shift + Right Arrow | Jump to the start of the next round |
| Ctrl + Left Arrow | Jump to the start of this player's turn. Press again to go back a turn |
| Ctrl + Right Arrow | Jump to the start of the next player's turn |
| End | Jump to LIVE and follow the match as it happens (live casts only) |
| K | Switch the side column between the Battle Log and the Chat tab |
| L | Hide or show the side column |
| F | Fog x-ray: shows who owns the territories hidden in the fog of the player you're watching, in a darker colour (fog matches only, not in Omniscient view) |
| O | Region Overlays |
| A | Adjacency overlay |
| C | Card Hints: marks the territories on the cards of the player you're watching |
| 0 | Omniscient view: see the whole board (fog matches only) |
| 1–9 | Watch from that player's view, counting the player chips from the left (the Omniscient chip doesn't count) |
