Gold is the in-game currency you spend on cosmetics. You earn it by showing up daily
and by playing matches. Gold only ever buys cosmetic items — never gameplay power.
¶ Is match gold spendable right now?
The game is still tuning the match-reward economy during testing. Right now the
daily login bonus is the live, spendable earn, while per-match coins accrue to a
hidden lifetime total used to balance the system before it goes fully live (and any
beta gold may be reset before launch). The amounts below describe how match rewards are
calculated; treat match gold as "earned but not yet redeemable" until the economy is
switched on. This page will be updated when it is.
The simplest, guaranteed earn:
Just logging in daily steadily builds toward cosmetics.
Every finished match pays out a handful of coins. The total is built from these pieces:
| Reward | Amount | Who gets it |
|---|---|---|
| Completion | +2 | Everyone who finishes (win or loss) |
| Round coins | +1 per round, first 5 rounds (max +5) | Everyone |
| Placement | 🥇 +5 · 🥈 +3 · 🥉 +1 (4th+ = 0) | By your actual finishing position |
| Win reward | base 8, scaled by the multipliers below | The winner only |
| First win of the day | +5 (once per UTC day, on a win) | Winner, first daily win |
Getting less gold than you used to? This is why. The game previously paid the 2nd-place
+3 to every player who was still alive at the end, no matter where they actually placed —
finish 4th of 6 with a pulse and you were still handed runner-up coins. That was too
generous, and it made the payout table above simply untrue.Placement coins are now paid for the finish you actually earned, using the same standings
the After Action Report and your ranked RP use. Come 2nd, take +3. Come 4th,
take 0. Nothing else about the payout changed, and the amounts in the table are the same
as they always were — but if you regularly survived to a mid-table finish, your per-match
total will be lower than it was, because it was previously over-paying you.
Finishing position is decided by the winner first, then by troops remaining among everyone
still alive (territory count breaks ties), then by elimination order for players who were
knocked out — last one out places best. See
how finishing position is decided for
the full rule; it's the same one in every mode, ranked or not.
The winner's base reward (8) is scaled by three factors that reward real games and
discourage farming:
There is no per-kill or per-elimination gold. Eliminations feed your placement and your
ranked RP, not your coin payout.
Gold is spent in the Store on cosmetics only — there is nothing pay-to-win:
Gold does not buy titles — those are earned by
playing — and in-match emotes are free for everyone.
Some cosmetics are free defaults (everyone owns them); paid ones show a price and unlock
permanently once bought. See Cosmetics, Titles & More.
Purchases are validated on the server (the price comes from the catalog, not your client), so
your balance and inventory can't be tampered with.
Gold can also be bought directly with money in the Store's Buy Gold tab. On Steam the
purchase goes through Steam; the standalone build opens a secure checkout in your browser.
Either way it's entirely optional and, again, only buys cosmetics — it grants no gameplay
advantage whatsoever.
