A Correspondence match can run for days, with your
turn coming round once or twice a day. Notifications are how the game tells you it's your move
without you having to keep checking.
They apply to Correspondence only. Live matches are played out in one sitting, so there's
nothing to be notified about.
Everything here is opt-in and off by default in the sense that nothing is sent until you set
up somewhere to send it — see Where they go.
| When | |
|---|---|
| Your Turn | A Correspondence match is waiting on your move. |
| A vote is open | A King of the Hill hill vote has opened. This is not your turn — in a vote everyone acts at the same time, and the match waits for the whole table. |
| Deadline Warning | Your turn is nearly up. It fires when 15% of the turn is left, with a floor of 3 minutes, so a 24-hour turn warns you with a bit over 3½ hours to go. |
| Match Ended | A match you were in has finished, and there's a result to collect in Your Games. |
Settings → Notifications has a switch for Your Turn, Deadline Warning and Match
Ended. There's deliberately no separate switch for a vote — it follows your Your Turn
setting, on the reasoning that a vote is the same kind of "the match needs you" nudge and doesn't
warrant its own checkbox.
You choose the destination, and you can use both at once. Nothing is sent until at least one is
set up.
Link a Discord account in Settings → Notifications → Link Discord. Notifications then arrive
as a mention in the Pact or Peril notifications channel.
This works on every platform — Steam, itch, and Android alike — which is why it exists: the
desktop builds have no push notifications of their own.
⚠ The mention is public. It's a message in a shared channel, not a private message, so
anyone who can read that channel can see that your Discord account plays this game. That's
inherent to using a channel mention rather than a DM. You can unlink at any time, and you can
mute Discord notifications without unlinking.
Android only. Notifications arrive in your device's notification tray, the same as any other
app. There's nothing to link — allow notifications when the game asks, and it's on.
There is no push on Steam or the standalone desktop builds, and no iOS version yet. On those,
Discord is the only option.
Settings → Notifications has two independent groups:
They don't interact. You can have Discord on and Mobile off, mute Deadline Warnings everywhere
while keeping Your Turn, or anything else.
Turning both destinations off is fine, and the game will say so rather than pretending
everything's normal. Just be aware of what it means: your Correspondence matches carry on
running, and a turn you don't take can still hit its deadline and be skipped.
Turning Mobile off also removes that device's registration immediately, rather than just
telling the server to stop sending.
Enough to reach you, and nothing else — a Discord account ID if you linked one, and a push
registration token per Android device. Both are deleted when you turn the channel off, and the
push token is also dropped when you sign out or uninstall.
