A Coalition is a party of friends (or anyone you invite) who play together. You gather on the
Coalition screen, and the leader takes everyone into a casual game or a ranked queue in one go.
Open it with the 👥 button next to the ☰ menu on the main hub. The badge on the button
shows how many members your Coalition has.
Any member can invite. You can invite anyone, not only friends:
Invites expire after 10 minutes. They show up as notices on the main hub, where you can accept
or decline them.
If you invite someone who isn't your friend, their
Friend requests from setting applies: Players I've met or
Nobody can stop the invite. You'll only see that the player is unavailable. Blocks work
both ways: you can't invite or join someone who has blocked you, or whom you've blocked.
If a friend is in a Coalition and has Allow friend joins turned
on, their row in your friends list has a Join button. You don't need an invite. With
Invite only, you'll need an invite from someone in that Coalition.
You can also get to a Coalition from Steam's "Join Game" or an invite link on Android or
iOS. Either way, the game always asks first: "Join 's Coalition?" (with the member
count). Nothing happens until you say yes. The question only appears on the main hub once
you're signed in. If you're in a match, it waits until you get back. If you're already in a
Coalition, you're told so; you're never pulled out of your current one.
If you're in a match when the leader starts, you follow as soon as you're back on the hub or the
Coalition screen.
A Coalition of 2 or more can only queue the team modes:
| Mode | Coalition size allowed |
|---|---|
| 2v2 | up to 2 members |
| 3v3 | up to 3 members |
| Fixed World Domination, Progressive Capital Conquest, World Domination 70%, 1v1 | Solo queue only (greyed out) |
A Coalition of 1 queues like any solo player.
2v2 and 3v3 are coming soon. Until they go live, ranked with a Coalition of 2+ isn't
available yet. See Ranked & RP.
